Solent Wireless, the operator of the trial DAB digital radio multiplex serving Portsmouth, has announced that two additional services will be joining the service; Gaydio and Solent Wireless.

On the 27th September 2015, Gold will move from the London II multiplex to the London I multiplex, to the same DAB frequency as Capital and Kiss Fresh, taking over the bandwidth previously allocated to XFM. The Arrow will take Gold's former capacity on London II and switch from mono to stereo.

WorldDAB held an “Industry Insight” session at the IBC2015 convention to look at current market opportunities and future plans for DAB+ digital radio across the world. Patrick Hannon, WorldDAB President, presented the latest facts on DAB/DAB+ deployment. “405 million people are currently covered by DAB/DAB+ broadcasts worldwide,” Hannon said, “and we expect a global cumulative figure of 40.1 million receivers sold by end 2015.”

Menno Koningsberger, General Manager of the 538 Group and president of the Association of Commercial Radio (VCR), announced that the number of DAB+ national commercial programs will be increased in 2016 during the WorldDAB Industry Insight Session at IBC 2015.
