BBC Radio is launching a jazz ‘pop-up’ temporary digital radio station for the first time, called BBC Music Jazz. The temporary service is a collaboration between BBC Radio, Jazz FM and the EFG London Jazz Festival. It is the first time BBC Radio stations will have worked in collaboration with Jazz FM.

The digital radio network of Bavarian Radio is growing in 39 locations from September 29 including Eichstatt, Pfronten and Treuchtlingen, with three new DAB+ transmitters on channel 11D in operation.

The week of digital radio will run for the second time from 5 - 9 October in the Netherlands, to help listeners make the transition to digital radio with DAB+ receiver giveaways and the chance to win a Fiat 500 with Digital Radio NL.

ETSI (the European Standards Organisation developing World Class Standards in Europe for global use) has this week published the latest revision to Technical Standard 101 756 DAB, listing the main character set used for station names and text accompanying radio programmes.
