British audio brand VQ has invested a six figure sum in its digital radio manufacturing facility. The company, which now has Digital Tick status for its current range of radios, is also demonstrating its long term commitment to the DAB platform and its products by offering a three year warranty as standard.

A recent survey of more than 1200 people conducted by What Car?, reveals that the ability to connect your smartphone to your car and parking assistance are the top technologies UK car buyers seek. Bluetooth, satellite navigation and DAB radio also ranked high on buyers' lists of priorities.

The WorldDAB General Assembly 2016 is just about four months away, and now interested parties can register for the event on the WorldDAB website. The annual event will bring together policy makers, broadcasters and industry representatives with the goal of discussing the future of digital radio.

Norway is the first country in Europe which will be switching over to DAB+ in January 2017. The main reason for why Norway is first is because of the Norwegian topography, with deep fjords, high mountains and scattered settlement patterns. This unique geography makes it particularly expensive to operate the Norwegian FM networks compared with other countries.

VQ is pleased to announce Digital Tick status for its current range of FM/DAB digital radios & bluetooth speakers from 12th July. The Digital Tick is administered by the independent body, Digital Radio UK.

Broadcasters in Limousin have signed a petition asking for a faster rollout of DAB+ in their region: "DAB+ is essential to rebalance the radio offer and fill the lack of spectrum in our region, and to avoid a digital divide in the region."
