Chiang Mai University introduces DAB+ broadcasting for emergency warning

Community radio listening on the rise in Australia

According to a report from the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, there are now 5.97 million listeners a week on community radio's 450 stations, compared to 5.3 million in July 2017. Of these, over thirty percent tune in via DAB+ digital radio.

RTBF to operate two DAB+ multiplexes in Belgium

According to the latest frequency plan, the Belgian regulator CSA, has authorised public broadcaster RTBF to operate two DAB+ digital radio multiplexes. The multiplexes will be operated by RTBF for a period of nine years, starting from 1 November 2019.

M-net starts DAB+ radio programmes in Munich

German regional operator M-net has started providing radio programs in digital DAB+ on its cable networks. The company said 16 private and public radio programmes are now available for more than 60,000 households connected to its cable network in Munich.

Digital listening in the UK reaches new height

Digital listening share in the UK has increased to a new record of 56.8%, up from 52.4% in Q3 2018. Listening via DAB grew by 2 million hours (or by 0.5%) year on year to now account for 39.7% of all listening and 70% of digital listening. With 93% of new cars now coming with DAB as standard, the majority of in car growth was to DAB which increased by 13.1 million hours or 15.5%

Agcom to publish DAB+ frequency allocations by end of 2019
