The Greek Department of Digital Policy hosted a seminar in Athens this week organised in collaboration with WorldDAB and the European Broadcasting Union. Titled “The future of broadcast radio in Europe with DAB+,’ speakers from across Europe shared their experiences on rolling out DAB+ digital radio with representatives from across the Greek radio sector.

The BBC’s decision to retain FM radio transmissions alongside DAB and web streaming is not raising alarms at WorldDAB; the global association that promotes the DAB/DAB+ digital radio standard. “The radio industry and government have invested in the infrastructure to deliver DAB coverage to over 98 percent of the population [in the UK],” WorldDAB President Patrick Hannon said.
