Mobile TV NL launches DAB tests

Mobile TV Netherlands (MTVNL) is preparing to broadcast mobile TV via the DAB standard, Totaal TV. Tests are being conducted in a number of regions. MTVNL received in 2009 one of the two licenses available for mobile TV. The plan to broadcast in T-DMB was not realised. To receive TV, tablets and smartphones need an adapter.

Digital radio trials to hit the airwaves

SA to trial digital radio: report

South African broadcasters call for green light to launch DAB+ trial

Over 200 radio industry representatives came together at the South African Broadcasting Corporation’s (SABC) facility in Johannesburg to attend a landmark workshop on the rollout of DAB+ digital radio and to discuss plans for a high-powered DAB+ trial transmission extending from Pretoria to Johannesburg by end 2013.
