After eight years of silence, Radio 1 returns, and this time as a nationwide channel on the DAB network.

The updated 2018 Abarth 595 range has landed in Australia, bringing a fresh look, a much-needed infotainment upgrade, and lower pricing. The entry-level 595 'Series 4' manual includes a new 5.0-inch Uconnect colour touchscreen infotainment system with DAB digital radio.

The last phase of Norway’s FM switch off is about to begin. On 15 September, P4 and Radio Norway will turn off their FM transmitters in Hordaland, Rogaland, Sogn og Fjordane, Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder. Then on 20 September, NRK's ​​FM channels in Oslo, Akershus, Østfold and Vestfold will be shut down. P4 and Radio Norway will continue to broadcast on FM in this area until Dec. 8.

The Flemish public broadcaster VRT will completely switch from DAB to DAB+ in November. The five radio stations Radio 1, Radio 2, Klara, MNM and Studio Brussels, which also broadcast on FM, will then switch from DAB to DAB+.

The WorldDAB Advances in Technology Session at this year’s IBC event in Amsterdam, from 15 to 19 September, is called "DAB at the core of radio's digital transformation". The session will focus on how digital audio broadcasting is driving the biggest shift in the radio industry. 

"Listeners who have only had FM radio so far have to find a digital substitute," says Ole Jørgen Torvmark, Managing Director of Digital Radio Norway. After the next week's shutdown, only NRK's ​​FM broadcasts will remain in Troms and Finnmark, which will be discontinued on 13 December 2017.

It might look familiar, but the Roberts Revival Uno DAB radio is actually a classic Roberts in miniature. There is auto tuning for both DAB and FM, preset stations, an LCD display on the top, a stereo line-in socket for playback from a digital player, dual alarm functionality, sleep and timer functions plus the option to use battery or mains.

The Flemish Radio & Television Broadcasting Organization (VRT) has confirmed this fall to move from DAB to DAB+. From November, none of its channels will be heard in the old DAB standard.

In a week, on 20 September, NRK will end on FM in Oslo, Akershus, Østfold and Vestfold. When that happens, 95.4% of the country's population will no longer receive FM broadcasts from NRK.
