Radio-listening is hitting the same levels as before FM switch off began in January 2017. The first DSO-regions in Norway are already show strong listening figures. The new digital radio survey, released today, displays that listeners first and foremost choose DAB radio in the transition to digital radio. 84 percent of all households now have one or several DAB radios, corresponding to about 4.75 million DAB radios in total.

At IBC2017, Fraunhofer IIS and RFmondial are showcasing the Fraunhofer MultimediaPlayer technology as part of RFmondial's new DAB monitoring receiver RF-DAB for transmitter, content and remote-coverage monitoring.

The group, which is currently only broadcasting its programs in the Rhine-Main region via DAB+, is now aiming at future nationwide distribution.

Cambridge-based light therapy specialist Lumie is launching its most premium wake-up light. Lumie Bodyclock Luxe 750D is an upgrade on the Luxe 700, offering DAB radio in addition to Bluetooth and low-blue light to make it non-alerting at bedtime.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has extended DAB+ Digital radio trial licences in Canberra and Darwin for 12 more months. This is the second time the licence has been renewed, following its issue in 2010 and the first extension granted in 2011. The extra 12 months will buy extra field testing and continued coverage modelling to be used for DAB+ rollout in other regional areas.

Radio listeners in the Göttingen area are now getting their NDR programmes in even better quality. The new Göttingen DAB+ transmitter supplies the region between Northeim and Friedland in Lower Saxony. NDR's radio programs will also be received via DAB+ in Moringen, Hardegsen, Dransfeld, Rosdorf and Nörten-Hardenberg.
