The Higher Audiovisual Council announced that it wished to continue the deployment of digital terrestrial radio (RNT) in France in the border areas and in areas where the supply of FM is limited, according to a report released Wednesday.

Pierre Boucard, the SNRL (National Union of Free Radio) and director of Sun , Community Radio Nantes, came to Skol to explain the ins and outs of the future of Digital Terrestrial Radio, commonly known by its acronym: the RNT.

This year's event will also cover digital migration; smart and hybrid radio; and radio in smartphones. There will also be 'organisational updates' from WorldDMB, RadioDNS, TISA and IDAG.

Ofcom has approved the separation of the Northamptonshire multiplex from the Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire multiplex. The change means BBC Radio Northampton will be removed from the Herts, Beds and Bucks service whilst BBC Three Counties Radio is removed from the Northamptonshire multiplex.

Tivoli Audio has announced that they will be using the Digital Radio Hallmark on products in The Netherlands. Tivoli Audio is one of the first manufacturers to obtain this approval and will work with the Digital Tick show that its products are ready for the future of radio and the rollout of DAB + in the Netherlands.

A bunch of spin-off stations have launched today across the North of England and in Scotland, going under the internal name of City Network 3 from Bauer. The stations have appeared in areas already served by Bauer FM stations, and where pop music station The Hits was previously available.
