250 regional DAB+ stations on air across Germany

With 98 percent of the population covered and approximately 250 regional DAB+ stations on air, Germany's radio digitisation continues to progress. 13 new transmitters are expected to be installed across the country by the end of 2019 to fill in the gaps.

Second national DAB+ multiplex halted in Germany

The Leipzig Administrative Court has overturned the decision to grant Antenne Deutschland with a licence to launch and operate a second national DAB+ multiplex in Germany. The multiplex was originally scheduled to start operating in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Austria has officially launched its national DAB+ network this week, with nine stations now broadcasting on DAB+ across the country. A regional DAB+ network covering Vienna and the surrounding areas has already been in operation since April 2018.

DAB+ to launch in Toulon in 2020

The multiplexes in Bordeaux and Toulouse are full, while another 28 licences have been granted for broadcasters in Bayonne, La Rochelle, Pau, Besançon, Dijon, Annecy, Annemasse, Chambéry, Grenoble, Saint-Etienne, Avignon, Toulon, Orléans, Poitiers and Tours.
