The WorldDAB Automotive UX (User experience) group, chaired by Laurence Harrison of Digital Radio UK, has defined its priorities. The first of them will be to agree on common terminology to be used when setting DAB in car specifications. The next step is to develop a guide on minimum expected features in a car radio, to optimize the use of DAB in car.

Weather 24/7 Radio is set to launch on DAB+ next week, providing rolling weather information 24 hours a day. Based in Portsmouth, it will feature up to date broadcasts on the current weather situation in the city as well as forecasts for the next 72 hours.

Bayerischer Rundfunk has continued the expansion of its DAB+ transmitter network and has expanded to 44 locations. DAB+ is now available in the district of Miltenberg in Lower Franconia.

The most recent Digital Migration (DigiMig) working group report reveals that listening via DAB+ digital radio has surpassed FM radio for the first time.

53 percent of all radio listening in Switzerland is now digital, taking it ahead of analogue for the first time. Digital radio listening has increased by eight percentage points in a year, rising from 45 percent in the spring of 2015 to 53 percent in the same period of 2016. Analogue FM transmission in Switzerland will gradually be replaced by digital radio as of 2020.
