Radio needs to give tech savvy consumers in Asia new ways to connect and interact. Digital Radio can help broadcasters achieve that, according to the Asia PacifIc Chair of WorldDMB and Commercial Radio Australia CEO Joan Warner.

Ed Vaizey, the Minister of State for Culture and the Digital Economy is visiting the headquarters of Panjab Radio this Friday 6th March 2015. As well as taking a look around the station's facilities the Minister has agreed to be interviewed by Panjab Radio Founder, Surjit Singh Ghuman MBE, about the work he has been doing on digital radio.

On the release of the infographic, Patrick Hannon, President of WorldDMB said "Our aim with this research is to demonstrate clearly that DAB digital radio is the platform of the future in Europe. With the first countries moving to Digital Switchover, and motorists driving between these markets, it is becoming increasingly important for car manufacturers to include digital radio as standard."

Transmission expert Les Sabel told broadcast managers and engineers that staying in analog transmission is a “dead end.” Sabel, a technical consultant for World DMB, was speaking at a workshop on Digital Radio in the lead up to the official opening of the Digital Broadcasting Summit, in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.

At the Geneva Motor Show 2015, the automobile industry will be able to tune in to a variety of DAB+ services from the public broadcast SRG-SSR and from the commercial broadcasters, reports WorldDMB news. Switzerland is committed to digital radio and is one of the countries currently discussing switching off FM, following the announcement of the first FM switch off which will take place in Norway in 2017 (or latest 2019).

The CSA has authorised the extension of a DAB+ trial of the Nantes and Saint-Nazaire regions until 30 June 2015.
