Ekstra Bladet Radio now on DAB+ in Denmark

On Thursday evening, the Danes got two brand new channels on the DAB+ radio network. In addition to the BBC World Service, Ekstra Bladet Radio moves to the brand new network that was officially opened by Culture Minister Mette Bock on Thursday. 80% of Danes will be able to listen to Ekstra Bladet Radio, which only plays music by Danish artists.

Danes can now tune into the BBC World Service and Ekstra Bladet Radio in the latest DAB+ format. The transition from DAB to DAB+ radio in Denmark now allows for 12 new radio stations.

Factum Radioscape brings DAB+ to South Africa

DAB fever: Car adapter sales up 1000 percent

The digital switch over has led to fierce sales of DAB+ radios and adapters for cars at Elkjøp, the largest consumer electronics retailer in the Nordic region. The increase in sales of DAB+ products has been enormous across the different regions of Norway. From January 2017 to the present, the increase in demand for DAB+ car adapters is on average at 1000 percent, while DAB+ receiver sales have increased by 600 percent.

CSA wants accelerated deployment of digital radio in France

Nicolas Curien, has confirmed that he CSA is looking to move into a higher gear with its strategy for the deployment of digital radio across France. The focus on the major cities of Paris, Marseille and Nice, has been extended out to Lille, Strasbourg and Lyon, with Rouen and Nantes having now put out the call for applications.
