Studio Alphen can now be listened to via DAB+ on channel 8A. The local broadcaster in Alphen aan den Rijn will continue to broadcast via the familiar FM frequencies in the coming years. In September 2024, the Dutch Local Public Broadcasting Foundation (NLPO) began rolling out a collective DAB+ network for local broadcasters. Studio Alphen is also affiliated with this collective. 'We are delighted that we have succeeded in offering Studio Alphen's signal via DAB+ in addition to FM and online. It is a great step forward in terms of professionalisation, improving sound quality and preparing for the future,' says chief engineer Marcel Hijnen. 'It's new and exciting for us too,' he continues. 'We will therefore be using the coming period to continue tweaking the signal to get it as good as possible.'
