Broadcast Minister Ed Vaizey said: “Boosting local coverage for Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire means the excellent range of local DAB digital radio stations can be received by even more listeners, at home and in their car.”

People will be able to listen to digital radio on a DAB radio set, online, on smartphone apps, on TVF or even in their car with the help of an adapter. The service will be provided by four transmitters across the region, inlcuding one at Bow Brickhill.

Nearly two million people across three counties can hear local radio stations on digital services for the first time from Thursday. The new Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire service was switched on at 08:46 GMT at Bletchley Park.
