The latest DAB/DAB+ trial began in June 2008 and is provided by TELEKO Company in cooperation with the public broadcaster Czech Radio.  Broadcasting on L Band Channel LI, the 2.5Kw transmitter provides coverage in the capital, Prague, to a population of around 1.3 million.  The goal of these non-commercial trials is the promotion of digital radio to the Czech public and Government administrators.

In the past there have been DMB trials in the Czech Republic, however, the industry is waiting for the government to make regulatory decisions on mobile TV in the country as there are issues with lack of spectrum.

The TELEKO Company, in cooperation with the public broadcaster Zesky Rozhlas, started a one-month-DAB-trial on channel 5A on 16th May 2007 and a DAB+ trial in the Pribram region on August 2nd 2007. The Pribram service covers almost 130,000 people using channels 12D and LI. The transmission is provided from the same site in order to compare both bands and their coverage. It is expected that at the end of 2007 Channel 12 will be made available so that the Wiesbaden Plan for DAB national coverage can begin.
