The LG Stylus 2 comes with a brand new 'hybrid' version of Radioplayer, built-in. As well as allowing customers to stream hundreds of radio stations via the Internet, Radioplayer also uses LG Stylus 2's internal DAB+ tuner to connect directly to DAB+ broadcasts, using significantly less power than normal streaming. This means anyone with a DAB signal can access the best radio stations the UK has to offer without using up their data allowance or their battery.

Joan Warner, CEO of CRA, made the remarks at the media launch of the new LG Stylus DAB+ phone, where she announced the industry would provide $5m in contra advertising over six weeks aimed at promoting the phone, which is the first smartphone device to include a digital radio device.

Station operator Media Broadcast is steadily rolling out the national DAB+ and have turned on two new transmitters in April. By the end of 2016 there must be 92% DAB+ coverage in Germany.

O2 has secured exclusive rights to sell the LG Stylus 2 – the world’s first smartphone to feature a DAB/DAB+ tuner. The Stylus 2 works with the built-in Radioplayer app to seamlessly connect to a range of radio stations through both DAB+ signal and internet streaming.

Club DAB Italia has announced an enhancement of indoor and outdoor service for listening to digital radio in the province of Bologna.

Radio stations can be tuned with ease by using DAB. Up to twenty different stations can be allocated and preset with the Boom DAB, so there is no need to retune manually, and the incredible sound quality should not be missed.

To celebrate the launch, participating radio stations will promote the LG Stylus DAB+ with an extensive on air marketing campaign from May 9, including giveaways of 250 of the new handsets.

Australians wanting to listen to their favourite stations in DAB+ quality on their smartphones can now do so with LG’s world-first Stylus-equipped DAB+ model. The phone will be available from 2 May and will cost $449.

Vienna’s DAB+ testing period has been extended by one year by media regulator KommAustria. All but one of the stations that have been on the test multiplex will continue for the entire test period, which started in May 2015 with 15 stations.
