Staff from a number of Manchester based radio stations gathered today for an official re-tune event in the city. The event was held at the Beetham Tower – the tallest building in the UK outside London – ahead of the DAB expansion taking place at 6am Wednesday 25 May.

A new marketing campaign has launched in Italy to help promote DAB+ digital radio. The advert will be broadcast on both national and local commercial radio stations and coordinated marketing activities involve 12 national broadcasters. With more than 1,000 commercials the campaign will have a coverage of over 23 million listeners.

That improved specifications for the car now include 7inch touchscreen infotainment/sat nav with DAB radio and text-to-speech function, rear view camera, keyless entry and start plus much more.

The e-Tron comes with full leather trim, satellite-navigation, digital radio tuning and LED headlights.

Standard features include digital radio, forward collision mitigation reverse, side and front cameras, heated/electric front seats, electric park brake, roof-mounted DVD, push-button ignition, leather seats and eight-speaker stereo.

A new DAB+ digital radio with six audio speakers is standard across the range. Further connectivity is provided through USB and AUX connections in the centre console.

Rajar reports the total number of adults who claim to own a DAB radio, is up 14 percent year-on-year. According to the report, DAB leads in the total digital listening hours, with an estimated 310 million hours on a weekly basis. DAB also leads in the share of all digital radio listening, comprising 30.9 percent of the total 44.1 percent of listening done through a digital platform; DTV earned 5.4 percent, while 7.8 percent listened online or through an app.

London II multiplex owner Switchdigital is looking for radio broadcasters interested in having a DAB+ service in the capital to get in touch. Using the efficiencies of DAB+ technology, Switchdigital, with assistance from its transmission partners Arqiva and Factum Radioscape, will create London’s first permanent stereo-quality DAB+ radio channel.

R-Sport trim also boasts a bespoke steering wheel, leather upholstery, drive -mode selector, digital radio, Bluetooth, automatic lights and wipers and keyless entry and ignition.

The car comes as standard with digital radio and quite good speakers.
