The 7D frequency block will be used before the switch off of analogue television, after which it will be converted to 11D.
9 companies were winners of the competition for the DAB+ broadcasting licenses. As of now, the newly created trial local multiplex has 4 programmes of the nationwide status, 2 programmes – of regional status and 3 – of local status. 6 of the stations on the multiplex are simulcats of FM stations and 3 are exclusive to DAB+.
The trial local multiplex will eventually contain 14 DAB+ radio programmes. The first stations began transmissions in June 2018.
The pilot project is being implemented by the Broadcasting, Radiocommunications and Television Concern (BRT), which is also the telecommunications operator.
