South Africa is not yet running a commercial DAB/DMB/DAB-IP/ DAB+ system, but has been running a DAB pilot under a test license for some time. Migration to digital terrestrial television, which needs to be completed by the start of the FIFA World Cup Finals that is taking place in South Africa in 2010, has taken preference; hence there has been very little activity on digital radio.
