As of June 2016, 31% of new cars in Australia come with DAB+ as standard. The radio industry is working alongside the automotive industry to provide both technical support and marketing of DAB+ products within automotive brands. CRA has provided technical information to the automotive industry and aftermarket manufacturers, installers and retailers on areas such as antenna placement, road coverage map and hosting dedicated automotive workshops to bring this information to the manufacturers and suppliers.

More than 307,500 new cars were sold with DAB+ digital radio installed in 2015, up from 98,400 a year earlier, as more vehicle manufacturers upgraded the in-car entertainment systems offered in their new models.

27% percent of new vehicles sold in 2015 were fitted with digital radio, and a range of manufacturers have announced the technology will be standard in many of their new range models, including the Porsche Cayenne, Toyota Prius i-Tech and Mitsubishi Pajero.
