Norway’s broadcasters on the post DSO landscape

At Radiodays 2018, we spoke to Norwegian broadcasters and the CEO of Digital Radio Norway to see how listeners are reacting now that all national FM broadcasts have been switched to digital.

The Norwegian story was a big one at Radiodays, with a workshop taking place on Sunday afternoon followed by a conference session on Tuesday morning. You can read more in our blog. In this interview, Ole Jørgen Torvmark, CEO of Digital Radio Norway discusses the interest from around the world and the lessons that other countries can learn from their experience.

Kenneth Andresen is Head of Radio at the P4/MTG Group, one of Norway’s largest commercial broadcasters. They have seen a significant increase in listeners to their new stations, as Kenneth explains here

Listening figures are being closely watched – 98% of radio listeners have now made the switch to digital, with 3.67m weekly listeners in January 2018 compared to 3.71m in January 2017. Jon Branaes, Acting Head of Radio at public broadcaster NRK, looks at the latest stats and the progress being made each month.
