Czech Radio plans new DAB+ transmitters, tunnel coverage, and deployment of ASA warning system

Czech Radio's intention is to continue improving the coverage of DAB+ digital radio broadcasting in the Czech Republic, especially in problematic areas. Its technicians have identified locations where the signal is still unsatisfactory or weak inside buildings. Efforts are also being made to resolve coverage issues in tunnels and prepare the technical conditions for the introduction of the ASA public warning system. Karel Zýka, Director of Technology and Administration at Czech Radio, said that the list of places with planned coverage improvements mainly includes areas with problematic indoor signals, i.e., inside buildings, especially in cities. Zýka added that the network expansion project should proceed gradually, taking into account financial and technical possibilities.
