A trial DAB multiplex broadcasts six radio services from public broadcaster Radio Romania in Bucharest.
In June 2020, the launch of an inter-institutional working group was announced, coordinated by the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Communications (MTIC), with the main goal to elaborate the "Strategy regarding the implementation of digital terrestrial radiobroadcasting and associated multimedia services at national level".

Romania consults on radio spectrum allotment for DAB
Romanian telecommunications authority Ancom launched a public consultation to assess the market players' interest in acquiring rights of use for the available spectrum in the VHF and UHF band for DAB+ digital services.
