WorldDAB APAC Technical Group to discuss emergency warning

WorldDAB invites radio stakeholders from the APAC region to attend the next meeting of the WorldDAB Asia Pacific Technical Group taking place on 14 July

The WorldDAB Asia-Pacific Technical Group (APAC TG) is a forum dedicated to assisting broadcast radio industry stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region implement DAB+. 

Topics that will be discussed at the next meeting of this group are as follows:

  • Emergency warning on digital radio – an explainer of what broadcast digital radio can do in a situation of emergencies such as a pandemic, floods, terrorist attacks and other catastrophes, with a case study on how Australia has used DAB+ in times of emergency

  • APAC country status reports – a round table from countries across the region that are in the process of implementing DAB+

  • DAB+ adoption process - a case study presentation from a new market that has just launched DAB+, explaining the issues to be addressed when formally adopting DAB+

The meeting will take place at 13:00 ICT Bangkok / 16:00 AEDT Sydney / 06:00 UTC.  Meeting participants will have the opportunity to discuss, learn and collaborate with their peers on all technical aspects of DAB+ digital radio. Participation in this group is open to broadcasters, governments, regulatory bodies, network providers, equipment and receiver manufacturers, who are actively involved in implementing DAB+ in the APAC region.
