Ahead of the digital switchover in Norway next year, NRK is driving a campaign to educate consumers about the benefits of having DAB digital radio in their cars.

There's no shortage of technology on board the car with the 8-inch Ford Sync system embedded in the dash, and that offers a link to your iPhone or Android handset, with voice control, DAB radio and Bluetooth as standard.

Switzerland's Department of Communications (Bakom) have announced the launch of an information campaign to accompany the switch from UKW to DAB radio. It has put out a public tender for the conception of a national campaign.

Joan Warner’s message for countries which already have or will soon have DAB+ is to understand that smartphone manufacturers have many options for new features in which to invest their resources. Therefore, you must offer them an incentive, “If you put a DAB+ chip in your phone to test the market, we will give you free advertising. It should be a deal too good to pass up.”
