After months of negotiation, the government of Wallonia-Brussels Federation has adopted new amendments to its draft decree on new audiovisual services in Belgium, including the deployment of DAB+ digital radio into French-speaking regions.

New amendments have been made to a draft decree for audivisual services in French-speaking Belgium, with Wallonia-Brussels Federation minister Jean-Claude Marcourt citing DAB+ as of paramount focus. The amendments will be awaiting approval by the Belgian Parliament.

A new website has been launched in Germany to promote digital radio. Dabplus.de has been established with the support of members of Digitalradio Deutschland.

The S comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured bumpers, door handles and door mirrors, air conditioning, automatic headlights, LED daytime running lamps, cruise control, DAB and Bluetooth connectivity and a 5-inch LCD centre console display.

Offering more source options than ever before, the Apollo RA770 offers Bluetooth, Optical Audio (TV), Advanced SiriusXM features (USA only), DAB+ ready (available in Europe and Australia only), AM/FM radio, AUX and USB.

Options available include switching between DAB/FM/Bluetooth connections, sleep timer, audio settings (equaliser & tone), display settings, alarms & timer, plus power saving and factory reset options.

Dabplus.de has been launched in Germany as the central information platform for DAB+ in the country. The website has been launched with the support of members of Digitalradio Deutschland aiming to establish DAB+ in Germany.

Following DSO last year, Norway has ensured DAB+ coverage in virtually 100% of the country, with Bauer Media's Travis Baxter predicting that by end of 2018, total listening and commercial radio revenue to increase. In Switzerland, the government's collaboration with industry and broadcasters will likely enable DAB+ to be the main radio platform by 2020, four years ahead of original schedule. Denmark recently announced its own DSO roadmap, with the switch to happen after digital listening exceeds 50% or by 2021 at the latest. In the UK, digital listening is expected to go above 50% later this year, triggering a formal government review into when to adopt a DSO timeframe.

Dabplus.de is now the central information platform for DAB+ and includes sections "Program Card, Reception, Devices, News, FAQ" and the extended dealer section with details on many aspects on DAB+.

Innovationszentrum für Telekommunikationstechnik will team up with Admess to present a new complete digital radio testing solution - comprising of the IZT S1010 Signal Generator with embedded IZT DAB ContentServer, complemented by an Audio Precision APx Audio Analyzer. The setup will be displayed at WorldDAB Automotive 2018 in Munich on 15 May.
