Slovenia wants to switch off FM in 2022

Slovenia has drawn up a blueprint to disconnect FM by 22 February 2022. After several years of testing, 12 national radio stations have been received in Slovenia since September 2016 via DAB+. About 70% of the country is covered by seven channels, including major cities and major motorways.

2017: a record year for DAB receiver sales

Almost 12 million DAB receivers were sold in 2017 in Europe and Asia Pacific, a new record for yearly sales. Almost half (5.9m) of the sales were for automotive devices, with key markets showing a significant increase in the number of cars sold with DAB fitted as standard.

Slovenia plans to switch to digital radio for 2022

RTBF launches new DAB+ channel as part of new cross-media platform

Eight new radio channels will be part of Tarmac - the new cross-media platform launched by RTBF. One channel will be the DAB+ test channel currently used by RTBF, which was confirmed by its director of radio production Laurent Finet.

Slovenia proposes digital radio switchover date

Slovenia’s Broadcasting Council has set out a potential path to DSO, adopting a decision for the main Slovenian radio stations to switch to digital on 22.02.2022.
