Myanmar starts DAB trial

Myanmar Radio and TV (MRTV) will start a DAB trial after having launched a public tender, which has been won by the Hong Kong based system integrator BTL. DAB equipment developer and manufacturer Paneda will provide DAB Head-End Equipment and support. The trial will start with one transmitter in Yangon - the country’s largest city.

Ofcom reports on the progress of digital radio

There are currently 339 radio stations broadcasting on DAB in the UK, up by 56 stations in the last 12 months. This is in addition to the 100+ stations on the DAB mini-muxes as part of the Ofcom small-scale DAB trial. The statistic is just one from the latest annual report from Ofcom on the progress of digital radio in the UK, as requested by Government as part of the Digital Radio Action Plan.

Radio launches streaming app with 250 stations

MDR is expanding its digital radio network in Central Germany. 98% of Central Germany's area is mobile-equipped with digital radio. 88 percent of the inhabitants of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia can receive digital radio at home.

Radio France requests DAB frequencies

Ofcom launches annual digital radio report

The report reveals that digital radio accounted for 45.5% of total listening hours in Q3 2016. This is a year-on-year increase of 3.6 percentage points in digital radio’s share of total listening hours. 85% of newly-registered cars are now fitted with DAB as standard. This represents a year-on-year increase of 12 percentage points.
