In South Tyrol, RAS has completed the transition from DAB to DAB+ across all of its stations. In Alto Adige RAS digital radio provided now reaches 99.3% of the population, with its stations able to be heard in 25 tunnels with a length greater than 500 meters.

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2017 is going digital, or at least that is what will be one of the main ideas at the core of this year’s event.

From the 31st of January, DRadio Wissen is now also available in South Tyrol. It allows the further spread of the young information radio station from Deutschlandradio as a result of RAS transitioning its broadcasts from DAB to DAB+.

Germany Radio Director Dr. Willi Steul welcomes the dissemination via DAB+: "Digitalradio is on the advance all over Europe. In South Tyrol, the listeners can look forward to the excellent sound and more programme diversity by switching from DAB to DAB+."

The RAS converted all of its digital radio programmes from DAB to DAB+ and put the DRadio Wissen radio station operation. The RAS now distributes 22 radio stations in South Tyrol in the high-quality DAB + standard.

The RAS has now officially completed the transition from DAB to DAB + in South Tyrol, still improving the quality of reception of radio stations.

RAS has completed the transition of digital radio stations from the DAB transmission standard to superior quality encoding DAB+. The DAB+ makes improvements to sound quality, the reception (free of interference, whether at home or on the road) and provides a greater range of stations up to 70.

By the end of 2016 more than 70% of the Italian population is reached by a DAB+ signal, with a concentrated coverage in major cities and along the most busy highways.

Standard equipment includes LED daytime running lights, a touchscreen infotainment system with both DAB radio and Smartlink for smartphone integration, 17ins alloy wheels, keyless go, Front Assist emergency braking and a leather steering wheel.
