A new digital radio station is launching on Merseyside this Easter Monday called Zest Liverpool. The station will play a mix of upbeat classics and lively tracks along with the best of the current releases, from studios in Liverpool.

The DIGIPAL DAB+ is the first DVB-T2 HD receiver for television in HD and DAB+ digital radio, as well as interactive internet services and HbbTV.

Albert Cheng of Hong Kong's Digital Broadcasting Corporation (DBC) expresses his disappointment with the short-sighted approach to digital radio at a time when the rest of the world is moving forward, and broadcast digital radio is advancing in other parts of the world. This development underlines the importance of incumbent broadcasters, existing commercial and government broadcasters working together for a successful launch of digital radio. The Austrian media authority KommAustria has extended the existing digital radio test period in Vienna and its surrounding area by another year. Fifteen radio programs have been broadcast for two years, within the scope of the test service.

The range starts with the SZ3, with DAB radio and bluetooth as standard, and goes on sale on June 1 2017.

Taking place the day after the WorldDAB Automotive event in Munich on 21 June, topics will include an introduction to TPEG technology, an outline of the TPEG specifications, theory and hands-on sessions on TPEG reception and service design (including real transmission and receiving).
