Now View TV says that after just 8 weeks of trading it is expanding coverage by putting Star Radio on DAB from today, and has also acquired community DAB station Vale Radio.

Continuing a trend from UK broadcasters, another FM station is now simulcasting its output on DAB. Devon broadcaster Radio Exe has gone on two DAB digital radio multiplexes - Now Digital’s Exeter & Torbay, and North Devon services - to reach a wider audience across South and North Devon.

Broadcast Partners has launched an updated version of the aXemble DAB+ headend transmitter. Following pre-release at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam in September 2016, the product has been updated with the latest technology.

DAB+ will be making its way to Bulgaria, as EF DIP Treiding has been awarded a trial license to transmit DAB+ digital radio in the territory of Sofia. The license was issued by the Communications Regulation Commission.

UK-based communications and TV facilities business Arqiva has reported its 9-month revenue saying that it was enjoying “double digit” earnings growth and an order book of €6.96bn. The Group is delivering the DAB rollout programme for the BBC. By 31st March 2017, Arqiva had built 161 new transmitters for the BBC, to reach the targeted UK national DAB network coverage of more than 97 per cent of the population.

Bayerische Rundfunk has launched a DAB+ radio with Hama for its classical listeners. The DIR 2131M combines DAB+ with VHF, Internet and Multiroom.

Arqiva, the company behind much of the UK's radio and TV infrastructure, has reported growth in revenue helped by strong take up of Freeview and DAB capacity. The revenue growth was driven by multiple factors, according to Arqiva including additional new video streams on the main multiplexes and radio contracts resulting from the Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) roll-out, the continuing clearance of the 700 MHz spectrum, and inflationary linked increases on broadcast contracts.
