Digital radio is back on the road on 15 August 2017, with a support team consisting of NRK, P4 and Radio Norway employees traveling around to help listeners with tips and advice about the digital switch over. The team will be visiting towns across Eastern Norway as NRK is due to close FM in Oslo, Akershus, Østfold and Vestfold on 20 September 2017.

In the UK, which is at the forefront of DAB service, over 45 percent of all radio listening is done via digital formats, including DAB, up from 29 percent in 2011.

Medialaan, parent company of commercial radio stations Qmusic and Joe, has signed an agreement with network operator Norkring Belgium to allow both stations to broadcast via Norkring’s DAB+ network in Flanders. The partnership, which runs until 2024, lets Qmusic and Joe begin broadcasting on the DAB+ network from September.
