Regional programming on DAB+ in Germany continues to expand. In Hamburg, the interest in DAB+ is so great that there are now calls to add a second multiplex. It was recently announced that there will be two multiplexes in Berlin - a local only for Berlin and a regional one for Berlin and Brandenburg.

Standard equipment bestowed on the S-Line trimmed A3 Cabriolets, including luxuries such as dual-zone climate control alongside Audi's 7.0in retractable infotainment system complete with DAB radio, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and sat nav.

On 15 September 2017, the last nationwide channels ended on FM in Sogn og Fjordane, Hordaland, Rogaland, Aust-Agder and Vest-Agder. Now all nationwide radio broadcasts in southern and western Norway are on DAB. The latest listener figures from the first region that turned off FM, Nordland, show that just as many people listen to the radio now as before the switch off.

On 7 and 8 November, the WorldDAB General Assembly will take place in Paris. This annual meeting is an opportunity to take stock of the rapid progress of DAB+. In France, the Conseil Supérieur de l'Audiovisuel (CSA) proposes to accelerate the local deployment of DAB+ over the period 2018-2020.

The French brand is reviving its pint-sized hatch after more than three years off the market. Standard gear extends to single-zone climate control, cruise control with speed limiter, 17-inch alloy wheels, auto-on headlights and windscreen wipers and DAB+ digital radio.

This week it's four years since the channel NRK P1+ went on air for the first time, opened by broadcast chief Thor Gjermund Eriksen. Now the station has nearly 300,000 daily listeners, who listen for an average of an hour and 46 minutes each day. It's a listening time that only the biggest radio channel in Norway, NRK P1, reaches.

Over two million people now listen to radio on DAB+. The use of DAB+ has tripled since 2015 and has achieved a next stage in its product life cycle: the adoption by the mass market. In the Netherlands, the number of DAB+ receivers, including car radios, that have now been sold is approximately 719,000.

RadioToday's Stuart Clarkson reviews the pop-up digital station to celebrate Radio 1's 50th birthday this weekend. A total of 54 hours was broadcast across three days by Radio 1 Vintage on DAB and online.

Alsterradio 106.8 rock 'n pop and Hamburg' s music station 917XFM are now available on DAB+, with the later receiving approval for a 24-hour full programme. The Hamburgers are expanding their digital commitment and have plans to further expand DAB+ in the near future.
