Digital Audio Broadcasting — DAB & DAB+ — has enjoyed mixed success since its introduction back in the early 1990s. On a country-by-country basis, various strategies have been pursued in relation to establishing the technology. Some jurisdictions have been a great deal more proactive than others, and some have enjoyed considerable levels of uptake by the general public.

THE two-day Asean Digital Radio Broadcasting workshop hosted by Radio Television Brunei (RTB) was officiated at the Kiulap Plaza Hotel yesterday. The speakers, well known in the field of digital radio broadcasting technology, were invited to present on the advancements in digital radio technology, the status of its users across the world and the challenges and implications of its implementation.

The authorities in the Italian region of South Tyrol have approved FM shutdown and will start on 5 December. The reason is that the DAB coverage is 99.3 percent and meets the requirements for outdoor and indoor coverage.
