Going Greek - New radio station launches in Glasgow on DAB

Russia to consider DAB+ as part of radio future

Broadcasting authorities in Russia are considering the introduction of DAB+ radio in the country, following consultations held last Monday. The State Commission on Radio Frequencies has decided that the frequency bandwidth of 175,872-228,128 MHz will be allocated to digital radio, as part of its proposal.

Swiss regulator BAKOM estimates 3.5 million DAB+ devices in use

Swiss regulator Bakom has announced that there are about 3.5 million DAB+ devices in circulation in Switzerland. This is following reports that in 2017, nearly 600,000 DAB+ radios were purchased, and that around 85% of all new vehicles sold are now pre-fit with a DAB+ radio.

Will Denmark switch off FM by 2021?

Initially, Denmark only wanted to begin a transition to digital radio after digital listening figures exceeded 50% (currently at 36%). But the Danish Ministry of Culture is proposing that FM should be switched off two years after it has been determined that the 50 percent threshold has been exceeded, but that switchover should occur if the target isn't reached by 2021.
