One of the benefits of digital platforms is that you can launch new, niche radio stations. In the ultra-competitive market of London, where a typical listener can find over 110 radio stations on their DAB receiver, there’s Fix Radio. The station has just celebrated its first birthday, and is growing both in listenership and in advertising - describing itself as an “important platform to the construction industry’s biggest brands”.

It marries DAB/DAB+ and FM radio with Bluetooth streaming and a built-in CD player. The Siesta Home has 40 station presents (20 digital and 20 FM), as well as four alarms.

Swiss regulator OFCOM is preparing a tender to select an agency to run a four-year information campaign on the transition to the digital radio standard DAB. The project has a budget of CHF 5.5 million, and the campaign is expected run from 2019.
