The Government plans to amend the decree from 3 January 2008, which defines the technologies authorised for broadcasting of digital radio services, in order to retain only DAB+ on Band III. This project responds to facilitating availability of radio receivers as and when France's DAB+ coverage reached 20% of its metropolitan population.

The CSA is planning to launch a call for applications for a new round of DAB+ tenders to take place in metropolitan France, which has been preceded by published findings on the impact of DAB+ in the region.
