As European radio broadcasters adopt the DAB/DAB+ digital audio standard and IP-based networkingthroughout their transmission infrastructures, GatesAir has optimized its high-efficiency Maxiva™ VAXTE transmitter for use in small-scale DAB/DAB+ radio installations requiring relatively lower power levels ranging from 10W up to 1kW. GatesAir will showcase this at Stand 8.D60 at the upcoming IBC2018.

Ofcom is today inviting expressions of interest from parties wishing to operate a small-scale DAB multiplex, and from radio stations wishing to broadcast on these in the future.

DCMS has been consulting on a new approach to licensing digital radio multiplexes to cover small areas, following trials in a number of areas of the UK. The closing date for the submission of expressions of interest is 21 September 2018.

Ofcom is seeking expressions of interest from parties wanting to operate small scale DAB multiplexes and/or who are interested in providing services on these future multiplexes.

Every CX-5 also gets folding door mirrors, dual-zone climate control, DAB radio, a seven-inch touchscreen, sat-nav and LED headlights as standard.

The hybrid radio is also part of this. It automatically switches between FM, DAB and the online stream, depending on the signal strength of a station, to ensure the best possible reception.

In Belgium, the French, Flemish and German-speaking communities have agreed several bilateral arrangements, which allows digital radio transmissions of each language to be available in other language territories.

A dual-screen infotainment system with a 12.3-inch central display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard, along with a 13-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, DAB+ radio, heated memory seats and open-pore wood trim.
