Belgian broadcaster JOE launches two new channels on DAB+

Norkring completes phase 4 of DAB+ expansion in Flanders

SBS Belgium to broadcast NRJ radio network on DAB+ within 12 months

Flanders-based network SBS Belgium, the collaboration between Mediahuis and De Vijver Media, wants to begin broadcasting the NRJ range of radio stations on FM in September, with DAB+ services to begin within 12 months after that.

New stations on DAB+ multiplex in Freiberg

The Media Council of the Saxon State Institute for Private Broadcasting and New Media (SLM) has approved applications from Kultradio.fm UG and radio B2 GmbH to have their respective stations broadcast on DAB+ via the multiplex in Freiberg. The decision means a total of 14 stations will be available on DAB+ in Freiberg.

Cork Internet Exchange adds DAB capability

Cork Internet Exchange (CIX) has been selected by digital radio specialist, Viamux, as the operations centre for a DAB multiplex operating under a test and trial licence issued by ComReg. "We are delighted to be able to offer Viamux, the infrastructure they needed to bring DAB to Cork,” said CIX managing director Jerry Sweeney.

New IZT products on show at IBC2018

At IBC2018, German technology company IZT (Hall 8, Stand A68) will present the IZT DAB/DRM ContentServer, which incorporates the functionalities of a DAB head-end in one device, including audio encoding, data service handling and multiplexing as well as all configuration and monitoring capabilities. The IZT DAB Archive will also be on display - a solution for quality control and long-term archiving of DAB multiplexes. The system includes functionality to record and analyse the EDI/ETI signal being delivered to the DAB transmitter network.
