Car makers and their suppliers will get to meet broadcasters from across Europe at WorldDAB Automotive 2017, to be held at the Holiday Inn Munich-City Centre, located within walking distance of Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn station. Hosted by WorldDAB, this unique and free event brings together auto manufacturers with EU stakeholder groups, Tier 1 suppliers to the automotive industry and representatives from commercial and public broadcasters.

Following the success of the WorldDAB Automotive Event 2017, the event will return on 21 June 2017 uniting car makers and their suppliers with broadcasters from across Europe. Make a note of the new date if you plan on attending in Munich.

Two new radio stations, Radio Hamburg and HAMBURG ZWEI, will be added to the Hamburg multiplex at the end of the month. This will take the number of DAB+ stations in the area up to 11.

The Deputy Communications Minister for Malaysia Jailani Johari has officially opened the 2017 Digital Broadcasting Symposium in Kuala Lumpur, telling delegates, “this symposium will provide a platform for the exchange of information and new avenues of knowledge and help participants make decisions about the future of the media industry.”

Four applications for the second nationwide DAB+ multiplex have been submitted to the Sächsisches Landesanstalt für private Rundfunk und neue Medien (SLM) and include Digital Audio Broadcasting Platform DABP GmbH, Absolut Digital GmbH  & Co. KG, Media Broadcast Digital Radio GmbH and Radio digital GmbH. 

A deal has been struck between Clearbox Systems and France-based Digidia for Clearbox to represent Digidia’s DAB and Synchronous FM product lines in Australia. As part of the agreement, Clearbox engineers and technicians will now be trained in the Digidia product suite so they can provide system design and integration, sales engineering and after-sales support.

The Digital Radio Norge caravan is on the move and will shortly be arriving in Oppland and Hedmark, the third area in Norway to undergo the digital switchover The caravan is staffed with DAB+ experts who can answer any questions the public may have about digital radio.

Entry-level versions get features like a reversing camera, cruise control, Bluetooth, DAB digital radio and alloy wheels, while autonomous emergency braking boosts safety by helping to minimise or avoid collisions.

Six airbags, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, digital radio with Bluetooth and front electric speakers come as standard inside, and the exterior gets LED day running lights and 15in alloy wheels.
