Next stage for DAB+ in Bavaria

The DAB+ network in Bavaria will be restructured and expanded in the coming months. Additional regional networks will significantly improve the reception quality and the diversity of programs in many parts of the state. Bavarian Digital Radio GmbH (BDR), Bayerische Rundfunk (BR) and the Bayerische Landeszentrale für neue Medien (BLM) are working closely together on the implementation.

Digital radio expanding to all capital cities in Australia

The DAB+ digital radio trial services in Canberra and Darwin to be made permanent, the Australian Communications and Media Authority has announced. It has also been confirmed that regulatory arrangements have been completed for digital radio in Hobart. The ACMA has now finalised DAB+ digital radio plans for all Australian cities. The timing for the start of permanent broadcasting will be announced after broadcasters have the necessary infrastructure in place.

Digital radio to be made permanent in all major Australian cities

NRK prepares FM switch off in Southern and Western Norway

Norway is continuing its digital radio push with the announcement that there is less than a month until public broadcaster NRK's FM broadcasts in Southern and Western Norway are terminated. As of June 21, NRK will only transmit radio digitally to Sogn og Fjordane, Hordaland, Rogaland, Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder.
