Bayerische Rundfunk will be operating another DAB+ transmitter at Altenstadt on the Waldnaab (Upper Palatinate) from 13 July for the Bavarian radio network. Throughout Bavaria, the DAB+ transmitter network is thus expanding to 51 locations. Now 89.8 percent of people in Bavaria can receive the digital BR program package indoors.

New rules are close to being introduced that will mean new cars will have to include radios that support digital radio.
