New DAB+ media campaign launches 27 August in Germany

A new German multimedia campaign promoting DAB+ will launch on 27 August, with the slogan "DAB+. Mehr Radio" (DAB+, More Radio) to be branded across TV, radio, print and online. On 30 August, an "Editorial Theme Day" will be held at IFA Berlin by German broadcaster ARD and other commercial radio stations to discuss the benefits of DAB+. The initiative is a collaboration between German broadcaster ARD and other commercial radio stations, as part of a nationwide rebrand of DAB+.

Czech Radio announces increased DAB+ coverage

The Czech Telecommunication Office (ČTÚ) has allocated Czech Radio capacity on the CRo DAB+ multiplex, which it will use to expand coverage with a particular focus on main roads and population centres. “By the end of 2018 the D1 motorway from Prague to Brno will be covered, along with the D8, D10 and D11 motorways,” said Karel Zýka, Director of Czech Radio.

CSA calls for French stations to begin DAB+ broadcast

French media regulator Conseil superieur de l'audiovisuel (CSA) has given notice to four stations to begin DAB+ broadcasts within 15 days. The stations Crooner Radio, France Maghreb 2, Frequency Paris Plurielle and PIMG Radio were authorised to broadcast via DAB+ in June 2014, and have yet to activate their transmitters. These developments are a follow-up to the CSA's DAB+ roll-out plan put in place earlier this summer.

Norkring completes phase 4 of DAB+ expansion in Flanders

With the deployment of the transmitter in Ostend, along the coast in West Flanders, satellite operator Norkring completed the rollout of phase 4 of the commercial DAB+ network in Flanders on Monday. In total there are now 18 stations.

SBS Belgium to broadcast NRJ radio network on DAB+ within 12 months

Flanders-based network SBS Belgium, the collaboration between Mediahuis and De Vijver Media, wants to begin broadcasting the NRJ range of radio stations on FM in September, with DAB+ services to begin within 12 months after that.

New stations on DAB+ multiplex in Freiberg

The Media Council of the Saxon State Institute for Private Broadcasting and New Media (SLM) has approved applications from Kultradio.fm UG and radio B2 GmbH to have their respective stations broadcast on DAB+ via the multiplex in Freiberg. The decision means a total of 14 stations will be available on DAB+ in Freiberg.
