UK digital radio in good shape

New data from Rajar shows that digital radio is thriving in the UK with the launch of a new mini-mux and a variety of new radio stations. Listening to the radio via DAB/DAB+ now accounts for 32.2% of the total audience, almost a third! This is an increase of 21% in one year.

New DAB stations reach respectable first listening figures

New DAB stations launched earlier this year have recorded respectable first listening figures according to RAJAR data. This included stations using the newer DAB+ standard, only available on newer digital radios. In March, Sound Digital officially launched a second multiplex of commercial radio to around three quarters of the UK, with new stations from Bauer, Wireless Group and smaller independent operators.

RAJAR Q2 2016: DAB listening share continues to increase
