IBC2023 - the annual event which brings the creative, technology and business communities together – is back in full force with over 40,000 professionals from 170+ countries expected in Amsterdam from Friday.

In the RAI Amsterdam convention centre, WorldDAB has 19 member companies exhibiting across the whole range of digital broadcast services, and many more key stakeholders visiting the show.

Once again, WorldDAB also is staging an essential conference session on Sunday morning in partnership with Broadcast Networks Europe, bringing together global experts to explore how DAB+ offers a firm foundation for radio’s digital future.

The session runs from 11:00 in Room E102, close to Hall 8, and is moderated by WorldDAB Project Director, Bernie O’Neill.

In the session, following this week’s "Warntag" national warning day in Germany, Andreas Gorsak will look at the role DAB+ can play in saving lives in an emergency. And Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko of Ghana's National Communications Authority will talk about the first DAB+ trials in West Africa, which launched last month in Accra and Kumasi.

Alongside this, we’ll hear from Edita Kudlácová, Head of Radio at European Broadcasting Union (EBU) on the core strengths of broadcast radio; Jonas Jacobsson of Telenor on the economic benefits and sustainability of DAB+, and Lindsey Mack on how digital is helping build a strong future for BBC Radio.
