SwissMediaCast offers all digital broadcasting technologies and focuses on efficiency, cost-effectiveness and sustainability. It plans, builds and operates its own broadcasting networks for the new digital radio standard DAB+ in German-speaking Switzerland and Ticino. SwissMediaCast coordinates the connection of the various radio stations which broadcast their programmes digitally.
SwissMediaCast has been broadcasting 18 programmes in its regional language network in German-speaking Switzerland since October 2009 and up to 18 additional programmes in each of its regional networks since 1 December 2012. In this way, SwissMediaCast supplements the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR) offering.
