Almost 3% of the audience listens to DAB digital radio in Bavaria, corresponding to 322.000 listeners aged 10 plus. Altogether 5,8% of the listeners tune in DAB Bayern at least once a week. Around 10% of the population of Bavaria are equipped with a digital radio gadget, at home or in the car.

BLM, the Bavarian commercial regulator has awarded a DAB licence to Kultradio.fm station for broadcast in Bavaria on Band III, Block 12D. The licence expires on 31 October 2019.

The launch of 'Digital Two' could provide the capacity for over 15 further national radio stations and likewise lead to the launch of new digital-only stations.
