WorldDAB centre stage at events in 2024

31.01.2024 by Will Jackson

It’s another packed year of amazing industry events around the world. Being part of them is a key aspect of WorldDAB’s work – we love to meet our members, and friends old and new, to discuss the fast-moving global developments in broadcast digital radio.

We hope to see you at our own WorldDAB Automotive 2024, which we’re delighted to announce this year will be in the beautiful city of Prague on 13 June – and there’s more below on our plans for the rest of the year.

Paris Radio Show, 6-7 February

We’re kicking off our travels next week at the Paris Radio Show, which brings together the biggest audio personalities over two days for meetings, debates, conferences and networking.

WorldDAB President, Jacqueline Bierhorst will speak as part of a keynote panel session on radio’s contribution to international issues. She’ll be joined by Yann Legarson, CEO of Radioplayer Worldwide, and representatives from the CSA in Belgium, and the European Parliament. Ahead of World Radio Day on 13 February, she’ll highlight the enduring value and impact of radio, for example during emergencies, and how DAB+ is the broadcast solution in a connected world.

On Wednesday, join the DAB+ meet-up for “everything you always wanted to know about DAB+”, with Jean-Marc Dubreuil, responsible for WorldDAB in France, and Project Director, Bernie O'Neill. There’ll be a brief presentation on the deployment of DAB+ around the world, and a discussion of the support that WorldDAB can offer.

There’ll also be a preview of the French language version of our popular ebook, “Establishing DAB+ digital broadcast radio”. The new publication “Mise en place du DAB+ - la radiodiffusion numérique” offers a unique, in-depth guide to the regulatory, technical and commercial aspects of establishing a successful DAB digital radio service.

The Paris Radio Show has a stellar line-up of industry leaders from France and beyond, including Roch-Olivier Maistre, and Hervé Godechot from regulator Arcom, Charles-Emmanuel Bon of Radio France, and Jean-Éric Valli from Les Indés Radios.

2024 Events

After this, on 4-7 March, we head to Kuala Lumpur for the ever-popular ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2024. We’re delighted to be partnering again with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union as a major sponsor and look forward to meeting you at our stand in the exhibition area.

Also that month, members of the Project Office team will be back in Munich for Radiodays Europe, 17-19 March, while May sees MBT Conference 2024 in Slovenia.

As mentioned above, in June, we’re delighted to be heading to Prague for WorldDAB Automotive 2024 on 13 June, at a time when digital radio in Czechia is growing fast, with the recent successful auction of new national and regional commercial radio multiplex licences, and Czech Radio continuing to expand its DAB+ coverage. We’re already working on spectacular venues in the city, and a great line-up of speakers.

Looking further ahead, we’re always pleased to join over 40,000 people at IBC, the media and entertainment technology show, at RAI Amsterdam from 13-16 September; and stay tuned for details of our flagship annual WorldDAB Summit taking place in November.
