Norway’s FM sunsetting nears completion
The last phase of Norway’s FM switch off is about to begin. On 15 September, P4 and Radio Norway will turn off their FM transmitters in Hordaland, Rogaland, Sogn og Fjordane, Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder. Then on 20 September, NRK's FM channels in Oslo, Akershus, Østfold and Vestfold will be shut down. P4 and Radio Norway will continue to broadcast on FM in this area until Dec. 8.

VRT moves from DAB to DAB+
The Flemish public broadcaster VRT will completely switch from DAB to DAB+ in November. The five radio stations Radio 1, Radio 2, Klara, MNM and Studio Brussels, which also broadcast on FM, will then switch from DAB to DAB+.

95 percent of population will no longer receive FM radio from NRK
"Listeners who have only had FM radio so far have to find a digital substitute," says Ole Jørgen Torvmark, Managing Director of Digital Radio Norway. After the next week's shutdown, only NRK's FM broadcasts will remain in Troms and Finnmark, which will be discontinued on 13 December 2017.

In Germany DAB+ now exceeds satellite, cable and internet radio
The number of Germans who own a DAB+ radio has grown to over 11 million, and on average 2.5 million people listen to the service each day, according to an annual survey by distributor Media Broadcast. About one quarter of radio receivers in the home and cars support DAB+, and the digital format accounts for 14% of daily radio use according to the survey, which was presented at the recent IFA show in Berlin.
